Marsden Flower Jade Greenstone Twist Pendant

A beautiful twist carved in Invercargill in the south of the south island of New Zealand. This stunning pendant is large and chunky. It features wonderful colours and the contrasts between the yellow and the green of the Marsden greenstone is truly something special.

This twist is a one off unique piece and will not be available again.

The pendant was carved by Nathan Jerry. Nathan is trained in traditional Maori carving in wood, bone and stone. He has been carving traditional Maori designs for more than 20 years. He is of Tainui descent and his Hapu is Ngati Kiriwai. He has the deepest respect for our nations most prized possession - pounamu. He currently lives in Invercargill and works from his own studio.

The piece is carved from Marsden Flower Jade / Greenstone, which is also known as as Flower Jade or Marsden stone. This greenstone features orange, yellow and brown markings which combine with the green colours to produce beautiful patterns in the stone.

The piece hands on a plaited waxed natural adjustable cord.

The pendant measures 60mm (2 3/8 inches) long, 70mm (2 3/4 inches) wide and 12mm (7/16 inches) deep.
