Hand Carved Bone Kowhai Pendant

 The bone pendant is hand carved in New Zealand into the shape of the Kowhai.
The Kowhai is a yellow flower which is native to New Zealand and is also the national flower of New Zealand.
Kōwhai is also the Maori word for yellow and this is where the tree gets it name due to the yellow flowers.
The kowhai tree was a very useful source of medicine for the Maori, they used its bark to treat internal ailments, treating cuts, bruises and swelling. It was even used to help heal broken limbs.
Measurements: 48mm long and 20mm wide.
The pendant comes on a black waxed cord in a wooden jewellery box.
