Arahura Greenstone Teardrop Pendant

A traditional teardrop pendant which is known to the Maori of New Zealand as the Roimata. It is said to represent the flow of positive energy, healing and comfort. Teardrop pendants are generally regarded as touchstones, ideal for meditation. They also represent a connection to the land.

This piece is crafted from Arahura greenstone or Pounamu, which features wonderful green colours, absolutely beautiful stone - look at the colour - you don't see many like this. Greenstone is regarded as the stone of the gods by the Maori of New Zealand. It is refered to as a Taonga, treasured thing, and it should be worn with respect and pride, it should be given with love.

It has a fine finish and is stone oiled.

The pendant comes on a three strand braided black waxed polyester cord.

The piece was hand carved in Greymouth, on the west coast of the south island of New Zealand, by Mike Rooney.

This teardrop is a one off unique piece and will not be available again.

The pendant measures 55mm (2.2 inches) long, 25mm (1 inches) wide and 10mm (0.4 inches) Deep.

The pendant is on a traditional black coloured cord that is fully adjustable for the wearer, the piece comes in a velvet pouch with a meaning card.
